The number of cans of food storage items I brought home from the cannery yesterday. Five of us went and rocked that place. The sister missionary in charge even agreed to use us for the next training video. (I'm going to hold her to it.)48
How many cans of different colored Play-doh would you consider to be too many? My answer: 48.I can't say I exactly love Play-doh. It's a mess for me. But the the kids love it. The Easter bunny was feeling very generous and hid cans from a 24 variety pack around our house.
This same Easter bunny had purchased said Play-doh at the big-box-superstore-who-must-not-be-named for $10 only to find the exact same thing on sale at Toys R. Us for $7. Of course, the Easter bunny decided to return the first set for the $3 savings.
Before I was able to make that happen, Ethan found the unreturned pack and felt entitled to open every can to add to their already humongous collection. So irritating. Plus I had to make up an elaborate tale why I had the same Play-doh the Easter bunny had hidden. And I have now been robbed of the satisfaction of returning something to Walmart. Dang!

The length (measured in inches) of the burn on Randal's forehead where he absentmindedly leaned against a hot pipe coming from the boiler.7
The number of carrots and snap peas my children ate at lunch without complaint. Of course they got to add a pom pom to the Wii fit jar. (In case that doesn't make sense, our family is earning a Wii fit by filling a jar with pom poms for great things we see one another do to benefit family unity and well-being.)1
The additional pom pom Ethan earned for finally choosing, at the dinner table, to burp with his mouth closed rather than his usual m.o.120
The number of wasps' nests Randal knocked out from behind the shutters. I'm not kidding.2
The fawns we saw in our backyard. There is nothing unusual about seeing deer in the backyard; however, if you look closely one of them is ghostly white. White deer are rare and specific only to certain areas of the world. We happen to live in one of them. Awesome!

Wow! I love that picture of the white fawn...absolutely incredible!
I liked your numbers :)
Doesn't all the Play-Doh turn into one nasty brownish-green color anyway? I say just market that color, then I won't get irritated when the kids mix them.
Play-Doh is not my friend either.
Neat deer picture! That would be so cool to see in person. Was it bee or wasp nests? I hate wasps and was a little freaked when I read that you had 120 nests. Even if it's bee nests it's creepy.
Play-doh is such a foolish thing. I am not fond either. We have wasps nests Nate needs to take care of, but not nearly that many!
Valerie--It was wasps. Most of the nests were old, but there were enough live ones to freak me out.
I don't appreciate all of the clay/play-doh bashing that is going on here. Aside from allowing kids to create 3-dimensional objects (the way they see and think), it can lead a child to a very successful and rewarding career in ceramics.
Also, according to the most recent statistics, 98% of prison inmates who have committed violent crimes had parents who wouldn't let them play with play-doh.
So, you should probably be buying more play-doh, not less. ;).
Cool Deer. In a few years you will never want to move. I have a love/hate relationship going with playdoh too.
I remember your earlier post about the white dear! Now you have your own picture! :)
Wow...that's a lot of play-doh!
You should be an accountant! So many numbers. This was fun to read. Kayla has six different colors of Play-Doh and I think that is plenty, but after reading the prison statistic I might need to go get more! I hope Randall's head is O.K.(ouch)!
